Dear friends and campaign supporters,

There are many things in my mind when I think about the opportunity to send you this final message about my campaign.

On one side I want to thank all the support from the lovely people of Mount Vernon and beyond, that contributed in many ways, to the development and results of our campaign.

Contributions include: from a simple smile to financial contributors and the consistent effort of hard-working and smart volunteers, including my beloved wife Yolanda…Thank you!
Thanks to the people that believed I was a better candidate. and gave me their precious vote… Thank you!
I also want to congratulate Richard and Iris in their success in the final results. You both did a wonderful campaign, and I am sure that both of you will be exemplary council members.

Even though I was not elected, I believe that I contributed to advance the cause of progressive values and Hispanic inclusion in our local government and beyond.  During these exciting campaign months,  in which we activated the Hispanic participation and this influence will likely extend to future elections, (Primary / General, Local, Statewide or Federal); I learned many important things about our local government, about our residents, about elected officials, about our DEMOCRACY.

I hope that somehow our collective experience will inspire our young and old Hispanic residents to run for office, and take on the challenge of public office.  We can all contribute to making an even better Mount Vernon  “Working Together and Living Together”.

Finally, I will be canceling my campaign email so if you ever want to get a hold of me please update my email information to: jManzanera@SkagitMediation.com
